T-SHIRT DESIGN CONTEST

THEME: NEURO-INCLUSIVITY

Humanities 101 is partnering with accessible apparel company Fidgettee to promote neuro-inclusivity with unique designs.

RULES: By submitting a design, designers agree to give both Humanities 101 and Fidgettee the right to sell t-shirts with the design on it.

Designers maintain sole intellectual property of their designs.

Jury selection of the designs will be announced December 1, 2024. An opportunity to vote on your favorite design will open across social media platforms and a winner will be announced Dec 4, 2024.

HUMANITIES 101 USE OF DESIGN STANDARDS:

  1. You Must Be At Least 18 Years Old

  2. We Are an Inclusive Community; We Respect All Identities; Disrespect to Any Group WILL NOT Be Tolerated

  3. Autism is Autism - The Term Aspergers WILL NOT Be Tolerated

  4. Self-Diagnosis is Valid

  5. We Do Not Endorse Functioning Labels (Low and High Functioning; Profound, Classic, Severe Autism)

  6. We Do Not Endorse the Puzzle Piece or the Light It Up Blue campaign - If You're Sharing Content You've Created for the Humanities 101 Foundation. Consider Using Our Colors (Pink, Purple, Turquoise, Lime Green) and an Infinity Symbol

  7. No Politics

  8. "Finding a Cure" WILL NOT Be Tolerated

  9. Academic Integrity - If You Create Content for the Humanities 101 Foundation it Cannot Include Any Form of Fabrication or Plagiarism

  10. No Explicit Content

  11. Self-Advocacy is Encouraged

  12. Celebrate Self-Expression Individuality in communication, ideas, and experiences is celebrated

FIDGETTEE USE OF DESIGN STANDARDS:

FIDGETTEE will NOT use designs when we are reasonably confident that they:

a. Violate the intellectual property rights of others.

b. Constitute libel or fraud or otherwise violate the law.

c. Encourage violence or abuse against groups or individuals—including through dehumanization—with potential violence exceptions for authorized US military activities.

d. Depict graphic violence, including self-harm, with potential exceptions for select historical images.

e. Constitute or include “hate speech,” i.e., abusive, threatening, or demeaning words, symbols, or images on the basis of race, religion, ethnicity, gender, disability, national origin, or sexual orientation.

f. Encourage hatred or harassment of private individuals (as opposed to public figures), no matter the reason.

g. Threaten or encourage physical harassment of public figures or their families or depict them in a discriminatory manner. Promote, feature, or encourage the use of hard drugs.

h. Feature explicit sexual content or nudity of a non-artistic/health/medical nature.

i. Include sexually suggestive images or text involving children.

j. Encourage animal abuse or cruelty, as typically defined by law.

k. Promote, feature, or encourage underage drinking, smoking, or marijuana use.

l. Exhibit gross insensitivity to individuals or communities in grief or mourning.
